Reed Diffusers

When setting up your diffuser, unscrew the top and remove the rubber stopper. Replace the top and place the reeds into the bottle allowing the essential oils to be drawn up through the reeds. Turn the reeds once a day for the first week and then turn them whenever you want to add a burst of fragrance into the room. Take care when turning the reeds to keep oil from dripping or splashing onto any walls or surfaces, keep out of direct sunlight and wash hands after handling. Reed diffuser oils are usually flammable, you should never light the reeds, even if the scent has weakened.

Allow 1 - 2 days for the fragrance to fill the space. Some reed diffusers will last longer than others, simply depending on what scent you choose. If you find the scent too overpowering for your taste or you prefer a more subtle scent, simply add less reeds. To help get the most out of your diffuser, try to place it somewhere fairly cool, draft free and not in direct sunlight. When choosing a location for your diffuser, make sure it is out of the reach of children and pets, and as it contains liquid, keep the diffuser away from electrical equipment and sockets.

Pillar candles

Pillar candles are designed to hold the wax within the candle, and as it burns down into the centre, results in a lovely glow. <see video>

  • Before lighting, remove any labels.

  • When you first light your pillar candle, let the pool of wax reach within ¼” of the outside edge, then extinguish. This will set the candle’s “memory” for all future burns.

  • Avoid continuous short burning times; this will cause the candle to tunnel, resulting in a drowned wick and wasted wax.

  • Before lighting always trim the wick to ¼.” Keep wax pool free of debris. This can clog the wick.

  • If dripping or smoking occurs, extinguish the candle, allow the wax to harden and trim the wick. Also check for air movement like a draft or vent nearby.

  • Always place pillar candles on a heat-resistant surface, never directly on furniture or counter tops.
